We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Controller to lead and manage all Accounting functions for our manufacturing client in Grove City, OH. This role goes beyond day-to-day accounting- this individual will play a key part in shaping financial strategy, strengthening internal controls, forecasting future needs, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the company. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and committed to maintaining strong financial controls and compliance. Reporting to the Company President, this is an onsite position.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounts payable processes to ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time
  • Oversee payroll to ensure team members are compensated accurately and on schedule
  • Monitor accounts receivable to ensure customers pay accurately and promptly
  • Manage all cost accounting functions
  • Maintain full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Support month and year-end closings and filings; collaborate with CPA on all audits and other financial requirements
  • Prepare, file, and submit all tax forms and payments accurately and within required deadlines
  • Distribute departmental budgets, financial reports, and performance dashboards in a timely and accurate manner
  • Lead financial planning efforts, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial modeling
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Monitor spending and ensure operations remain within established budgets while proactively anticipating future financial needs
  • Provide leadership with strategic insights, financial analyses, and recommendations to support sound decision-making
  • Coach, develop, and lead a team of accounting associates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is highly preferred; relevant working experience may also be considered
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting required
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to see the “big picture” and anticipate future financial opportunities and challenges
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations
  • Professional presence and ability to represent the company positively
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP Systems
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks experience highly preferred)
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical judgment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
