General Labourer

KIT Recruitment is partnering with an established meat processing organization to recruit 2 Heavy General Labourers to join its production team in Mississauga.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving the lifting, handling and movement of raw meat products within a fast-paced production environment. You'll be responsible for opening and moving heavy boxes of meat, transporting products to butchers and production areas, and supporting daily operations while maintaining food safety and workplace standards.

Heavy General Labourer – Details:

• Starting Wage: $20.60/hour
• Wage Progression: Eligible for a $0.50/hour increase after 3, 6 and 12 months of employment, based on performance.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Benefits: Available after successful completion of the probationary period

Heavy General Labourer – Responsibilities:

• Lift, carry and move heavy boxes containing cuts of meat throughout the production facility.
• Open boxes and prepare raw meat products for processing.
• Transport meat products to butchers and designated production areas.
• Perform repetitive lifting, bending, reaching and standing for extended periods.
• Assist with the handling and movement of fresh and frozen meat products.
• Support daily production activities to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with additional general labour and production duties as required.

Heavy General Labourer – Qualifications:

• Previous experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, production or heavy general labour is an asset.
• Physically capable of repetitive heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable handling raw meat products and working around blood and other by-products of meat processing.
• Willing and able to work in a refrigerated production environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to workplace safety, cleanliness and food handling procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining consistent attendance.
• Available to work Monday to Friday, starting at 6:00 AM.
