Non-Negotiables

  • A Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline is required
  • You must have experience supporting senior technical staff to develop innovative technology solutions that meet customer needs
  • You must be able to technically contribute to and lead a variety of complex technical tasks at a detailed level
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills with project managers, IPT leads, and customers are essential
  • You must have experience with the design or use of acoustic communication systems
  • A working knowledge of digital and analog circuits is required
  • You must possess a rigorous understanding and application of fundamental physics and mathematics principles

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of complex undersea acoustic systems to meet rigorous national security requirements
  • Contribute to the execution of ongoing and future programs in innovative maritime systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex system design challenges while satisfying strict design criteria
  • Assist in the design and execution of at-sea experiments to test and validate integrated systems
  • Participate in all phases of research and development, from first-principle analysis through to prototyping and testing of integrated systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience successfully managing multiple multidisciplinary technical programs, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination, is highly desirable
  • Alternatively, experience with US Navy undersea warfare leadership and operations is a plus
  • Experience contributing to and leading programs through various stages of the technology lifecycle, from science and technology to deployment, is preferred
  • Experience designing complex undersea systems with custom PCBs, embedded software, data acquisition, and signal processing is advantageous
  • One or more years of experience developing or designing communications systems for wireless and/or underwater applications is also valued
