Opportunity

Imagine engineering the brains behind the vehicles that race to save lives. This Tech Lead Electrical Engineer role places you on a small, elite team where every design decision directly supports first responders. You will own the embedded electronics that power critical vehicle systems—lighting, pressure governors, sensors, and control modules—from initial concept through production.

You will drive hardware development at every stage: schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, and rigorous functional testing. Working closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers, you will ensure each product is robust, compliant, and ready for the field. Your technical leadership will set the direction for the electrical engineering group, and you will mentor two to three engineers daily.

We are looking for an engineer who thrives on technical depth and hands-on problem solving. You have deep microcontroller expertise, a strong grasp of EMC/EMI design, and are fluent with Altium. You communicate clearly, enjoy cross-functional collaboration, and have a track record of bringing complex embedded systems to market. Your leadership style empowers others and raises the bar for quality.

This is a direct-hire position offering a salary of $140,000 to $155,000, an 8% bonus plan that consistently over-performs, and the rare chance to work on greenfield products from day one. The company is stable, growing, and deeply invested in your success. If you are ready to lead meaningful engineering work that makes a tangible difference, apply today and let's start the conversation.

Non-Negotiables

  • You must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder
  • A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required
  • You have at least eight years of experience in embedded hardware design
  • You possess strong knowledge of microcontroller-based design, including ARM family processors
  • You have a solid understanding of electronic design for EMC and EMI compliance
  • You bring hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium
  • You have experience leading or mentoring other engineers in a team setting

What's In It For You

  • You will earn a competitive annual salary between $140,000 and $155,000, plus an 8% bonus plan that has historically exceeded its target
  • You will own the full development lifecycle of new, greenfield products that directly support first responders and emergency services
  • You will join a small, growing electrical engineering group where your contributions are highly visible and impactful
  • You will take on a technical leadership role, mentoring and guiding a team of two to three engineers
  • The company is financially strong and has demonstrated stability, providing a secure career move
  • You will have the opportunity to shape product architectures and drive best practices within the team
  • You will work with cutting-edge wireless and embedded technologies integrated into next-generation vehicles

Responsibilities

  • You will design and develop embedded electronic systems for vehicle lighting, pressure governors, sensors, and control modules
  • You will drive hardware development from schematic design and PCB layout through functional and system-level testing
  • You will lead technical decisions and provide day-to-day mentorship to a team of two to three engineers
  • You will collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and product teams to deliver manufacturable solutions
  • You will define product architectures, select critical components, and ensure performance and regulatory compliance
  • You will manage development schedules, team priorities, and resource planning
  • You will support product testing, validation, and the transition to volume manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, or LoRa is a strong advantage
  • Prior work in the automotive or transportation industry is highly valued
  • Hands-on proficiency with laboratory test equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters is desired
  • A track record of improving hardware development processes and design standards is preferred
  • Familiarity with networking products or communication protocols beyond the basics is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a cross-functional, fast-paced product development environment
  • Experience with full product lifecycle from concept through volume manufacturing is ideal
