Opportunity

This is a rare chance to dive deep into defense-oriented signal processing research without leaving the beautiful Monterey coast. The team you would join is small, driven, and stacked with some of the brightest minds in the field. Every project you touch will have real, direct consequences for national security—and your fingerprints will be all over the solutions. If you are tired of being a faceless contributor in a massive organization, this role puts your name on the work that matters.

You will be building and maintaining large, robust software systems that process signals in ways most engineers only read about. Your day-to-day will involve writing clean C/C++ and Python, designing data structures that handle intense algorithmic loads, and crafting GUIs that let end-users unlock the power under the hood. Because these systems run in sensitive environments, your defensive coding skills and rigorous testing habits will keep everything secure and reliable. You will not just ship code; you will own entire subsystems and see them through from whiteboard sketches to field deployment.

The engineer who thrives here understands that documentation and discipline are just as important as brilliant code. You already know Linux inside out, you can tune a SQL query in your sleep, and you probably have opinions on the right way to structure a repository. Ideally, you have gotten your hands dirty with statistical signal processing or communications protocols—but if you haven’t, your deep CS fundamentals will let you learn fast. Most importantly, you bring an active TS/SCI clearance and the maturity to handle classified work without drama.

Ready to do work you can actually talk about with your closest colleagues—even if you cannot share it with the world? This is where you build a career on the quiet achievements that make a loud difference. Whether you are two years in or a seasoned pro with five-plus years under your belt, there is room for you to grow here. The team is ready; the projects are funded; the clearance hurdle is yours to clear. Apply today and let’s start a conversation that could change everything.

Non-Negotiables

  • You must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance to meet project requirements
  • A B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is required
  • You need a minimum of two years of professional software engineering experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Linux, C/C++, SQL, Python, and GUI design is essential
  • Strong experience designing and implementing data structures and algorithms is expected

What's In It For You
