Opportunity

Behind every secure communication and precision geolocation system lies software built by developers who understand both code and mission. This is your invitation to join a confidential industry leader in national defense technology, based in Tucson, Arizona, where you will craft custom DSP solutions that protect the nation. In a company that values initiative and cross-disciplinary collaboration, your work will not sit on a shelf—it will deploy into the field and make an immediate difference.

You will develop software across the full lifecycle, from concept through integration and test, in a small, agile business environment. Your responsibilities will extend beyond pure coding: you will also participate in systems engineering, requirements development, deployment, and operations & maintenance. Direct interaction with end users and customers ensures that the solutions you build are shaped by real needs and real feedback. This is a role where no two days are the same and your expertise will be stretched and sharpened continuously.

We are looking for a developer who brings a BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, at least five years of professional experience (or three with a master’s), and deep proficiency in C++ or Python on Linux. An active TS/SCI clearance is non-negotiable. Beyond that, you are someone who enjoys stepping outside your comfort zone—whether that means exploring networking protocols, messaging frameworks like zeroMQ or MQTT, databases, DSP concepts, or the hardware side with FPGAs and RF components. Your versatility and eagerness to learn will be as important as your technical background.

This is not just another software job; it is a career-defining opportunity to shape technology that directly supports national security. You will be surrounded by motivated engineers who share your passion for innovation, and you will see the tangible results of your work in the systems that keep our country safe. If you are ready to apply your skills in a high-impact, high-trust environment, take the next step today. Apply now to start a conversation about how your expertise can drive the next generation of defense technology.

Non-Negotiables

  • You must hold an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • You need a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
  • You must have at least five years of professional software development experience, or three years if you hold an MS degree
  • You must be proficient in more than one high-level programming language, such as C++ or Python
  • You must have hands-on experience developing software for Linux environments
  • You must be able to work onsite in Tucson, Arizona, as this position does not offer remote options

What's In It For You

  • You will contribute directly to national defense by building custom digital signal processing, geolocation, and communications systems
  • You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of talented engineers in a supportive R&D environment
  • You will gain broad exposure across the entire engineering lifecycle—from requirements to deployment and operations
  • You will have the autonomy to take ownership of your work and see its immediate impact on real-world missions
  • You will work with cutting-edge technologies such as FPGAs, sensors, RF hardware, and high-speed I/O
  • You will enjoy a small-company culture where versatility and initiative are recognized and rewarded
  • You will grow your skills across diverse functional areas, from systems engineering to direct customer engagement

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust software solutions for custom digital signal processing, geolocation, and communications systems in a small-team environment
  • Collaborate across functional areas, including systems engineering, requirements development, integration and test, deployment, and operations and maintenance
  • Engage directly with end users and customers to understand requirements and deliver effective, mission-ready solutions
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support
  • Contribute to the integration of software with electronic hardware such as FPGAs, sensors, and RF components
  • Ensure code quality and maintainability through participation in code reviews and adherence to best practices
  • Adapt to evolving project needs and take on tasks outside your primary area of expertise when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing APIs or board support packages is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with computer networks and messaging frameworks such as zeroMQ or MQTT is preferred
  • Knowledge of databases is desirable
  • Understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) concepts and principles is advantageous
  • Exposure to electronic hardware, including FPGAs, sensors, or RF components, is valued
  • Experience programming for high-speed I/O interfaces like PCIe and SSDs is beneficial
  • Experience developing Linux drivers or working with SNMP is a plus
