Opportunity

This Numerical Control Programming Engineer position places you at the heart of composite and metallic fabrication for some of the most advanced aircraft in the world. While the employer remains confidential, the facility in Red Oak is a center of excellence where your technical leadership will directly influence production of components for the Global Hawk, Gulfstream G600, and Boeing’s trainer airplane. It’s a mature operation undergoing generational team change, meaning your expertise will be trusted and your impact visible from day one.

Your day-to-day work will involve programming sophisticated 5-axis machines, rapid ply cutters, and laser projection systems. You’ll translate engineering drawings into efficient NC code, optimize cutter paths, and drive process improvements that affect yield, quality, and delivery. Beyond code, you will mentor a small team of programmers, guide new technology introductions, and serve as the primary technical voice for customers and suppliers. Every part you program will ultimately fly, making attention to detail and a quality-first mindset non-negotiable.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience, deep CATIA skills, and a track record of leading NC programming from concept through production. You are a problem solver who can dissect a nonconformance with 8D or A3 methods, improve process yield with Lean Six Sigma, and communicate clearly across teams. You thrive in a hands-on environment where you own both the big picture and the fine grain of the code. You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, ready to work on-site in Red Oak, Texas.

This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to step into a senior technical leadership role at a premier aerospace manufacturer that invests in its people. With a salary range of $150,000 - $175,000, fully paid benefits, immediate 401(k) vesting, and relocation support, the total package is designed to attract top talent. If you have the experience and the drive to make an immediate difference, apply today and take the next step in your career.

Non-Negotiables

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident per ITAR regulations and not require visa sponsorship
  • A minimum of 15 years of related experience in aerospace or similar high-precision manufacturing is required
  • Expertise in CATIA 5/6 and Computer Aided Design (CAD) is mandatory
  • Deep knowledge of aerospace composites manufacturing processes is essential
  • You must be able to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in programming 3-axis and 5-axis machine centers for both composite and metallic fabrication is required
  • A Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering or technical field is expected, though significant equivalent experience will be considered

What's In It For You

  • Enjoy fully company-paid medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance that protects you and your family
  • Receive basic life insurance at 1x your salary, plus short-term and long-term disability coverage at no cost
  • Benefit from immediate vesting in the 401(k) retirement plan, helping you build long-term financial security from day one
  • Take advantage of tuition reimbursement to continue your professional development and stay at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing
  • Experience flexible time off and paid holidays that support a healthy work-life balance
  • Gain additional peace of mind with critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident insurance plans
  • Access health savings and flexible spending accounts to manage healthcare expenses with pre-tax dollars

Responsibilities

  • Program rapid ply cutter (PRC) equipment to precisely cut composite materials in preparation for bonding operations
  • Develop laser projection programs that define manufacturing build sequences and the location of composite ply components
  • Program 3-axis and 5-axis automatic tape laying equipment as well as trim and drill machine cells for composite fabrication
  • Program 3-axis and 5-axis machine centers used for metallic part production, including repair components and tooling details
  • Lead process development and manage team personnel related to NC programming, process control, and manufacturing support
  • Serve as the primary technical representative for customer and supplier reviews, ensuring all requirements are met
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma tools such as A3, 8D, and Pareto analysis to improve process yield and eliminate recurrence of nonconformances

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens NX in addition to CATIA 5/6 is preferred
  • Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools is a strong plus
  • Experience in planning and manufacturing execution systems within aerospace fields is beneficial
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles and their practical application to process control is highly regarded
  • Expert-level understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) adds value
  • A demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and drive change from concept through production is desirable
  • Formal education in engineering is preferred, though substantial equivalent experience is acceptable
