Opportunity

Step into a role where your expertise becomes the foundation of next-generation defense electronics. This is not a position for maintaining the status quo—it demands an innovator who can define architectures and guide a team through complex development cycles. You will join a well-established organization known for investing in technology and giving its engineers real ownership of the product line.

Your day-to-day will be a blend of high-level strategy and hands-on engineering. You will architect and verify analog and digital circuits that must survive extreme temperatures, shock, and electromagnetic interference. From thermal analysis to radiation hardening, every design choice you make will balance performance, cost, and reliability. You will also drive compliance with rigorous military and aerospace standards, ensuring every deliverable meets the toughest requirements.

The ideal candidate brings at least 15 years of electrical engineering experience, with deep roots in power electronics, circuit design, and ruggedized systems. You are comfortable mentoring junior engineers and presenting to leadership, but you still enjoy rolling up your sleeves to troubleshoot a tricky layout or debug a prototype. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering—an advanced degree is a plus—and you communicate technical concepts with clarity and conviction.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a product line that serves multiple customers in the defense sector. You will receive a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and the kind of stability that comes from being part of a growing, well-funded enterprise. Relocation support is available for the right professional. If you are ready to lead from the front and make an immediate impact, apply today. Let’s start a conversation about how your expertise can drive real innovation.

Non-Negotiables

  • You must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred
  • You need at least 15 years of professional experience in analog and digital circuit design, including A/D conversion, processors, microcontrollers, I/O, and communication interfaces
  • Deep expertise in power electronics is essential, with proven proficiency using MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN devices
  • You must have direct experience designing DC/DC converters and ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-1275/704, DO-160, and MIL-STD-461
  • Proficiency in performing thermal, electrical stress, worst-case, tolerance, aging, FMEA, EMI, and radiation analyses (SEU, TID) is mandatory
  • You need strong skills in PWB layout for high-power, high-voltage, and EMI-controlled designs
  • Solid working knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, RS-232/422/485, SPI, JTAG, PCI/PCIe, and 1G/10G Ethernet is non-negotiable

What's In It For You

  • You will earn a competitive base salary ranging from $170,000 to $210,000, commensurate with your experience and impact
  • A comprehensive benefits package supports your health, retirement, and overall well-being
  • Join a well-established and expanding company, giving you long-term stability and room for career growth
  • Work on a diverse product line for a wide range of customers, keeping your projects challenging and varied
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment where your contributions are recognized and your technical leadership is encouraged
  • Relocation assistance is negotiable, making it easier to bring your expertise to the Long Island area

Responsibilities

  • Drive the full lifecycle of electronic systems, from initial requirements capture and architecture definition through to production release and ongoing sustainment
  • Design and validate innovative analog and digital hardware solutions that function reliably in demanding environmental conditions
  • Author clear specifications, design documentation, and lead technical design reviews to maintain alignment and quality
  • Balance complex design trade-offs across performance, cost, schedule, and risk to meet aggressive project goals
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and analytical support to manufacturing, supply chain, and fielded products
  • Mentor and guide engineering team members, contribute to cost estimates and proposals, and participate in technical hiring decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is highly desirable
  • Experience with motor control, control theory, Clark and Park transforms, and sensor interfaces such as LVDT, resolvers, and encoders will set you apart
  • Proficiency with CAD and simulation tools like LT-Spice, P-Spice, OrCAD, Allegro, and MATLAB/Simulink is a strong advantage
  • Familiarity with Z-domain analysis and robust design practices for radiation environments (SEU, TID) is valued
  • A proven track record of mentoring engineers and successfully leading complex technical projects is highly regarded
