Opportunity

This is not a typical desk job—it’s a chance to be the technical linchpin for a Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive supplier. As an Application Engineer, you will work with the products that power diesel engines, and your decisions will shape performance, quality, and customer satisfaction. The company values deep technical expertise and offers you the autonomy to drive solutions.

Your work will center on diesel fuel injectors, where you will design remanufacturing processes, troubleshoot field failures, and lead root cause investigations. Every day, you’ll collaborate with testing labs, quality teams, and suppliers to ensure that products meet rigorous standards. This role matters because the engines you support are found in heavy-duty trucks, agriculture, and marine applications—your work keeps the world moving.

We are looking for an engineer who combines a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of application or validation experience. You must know Common Rail diesel injectors inside and out, from design with SolidWorks to reading GD&T drawings. But beyond technical skills, you need a troubleshooting mindset and the confidence to present findings to both shop-floor technicians and senior leaders. If you enjoy being the go-to person when things get complicated, you’ll thrive here.

This is a full-time, direct-hire role in Greenville, SC—a growing hub with a low cost of living and easy access to the Blue Ridge Mountains. You’ll earn a competitive salary, earn a performance bonus, and receive relocation assistance. More than that, you’ll join a team where your contributions are seen and valued. Ready to take ownership of critical fuel systems? Apply today and let’s start a conversation.

Non-Negotiables

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • You bring at least five years of experience in application engineering, product support, or validation engineering
  • You have hands-on experience with diesel engine Common Rail fuel injector systems, including design, validation, and manufacturing processes
  • You are proficient with 3D SolidWorks and can generate engineering drawings using GD&T
  • You possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex technical problems
  • You communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences and document issues clearly

What's In It For You

  • A competitive annual salary ranging from $95,000 to $125,000, plus a 7% performance bonus
  • Relocation assistance is provided to help you make a smooth transition to the Greenville area
  • You will join a respected automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier with a strong industry reputation
  • The role offers the chance to work on diverse engineering challenges, from design to validation
  • You will enjoy a collaborative environment where your technical ownership directly impacts product quality
  • This direct-hire position provides long-term career growth and stability

Responsibilities

  • Provide application engineering support for Port Fuel Injection products across assigned programs
  • Investigate product performance issues, including test failures and field incidents, to determine root causes
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for engineering issues
  • Author and maintain formal technical documentation such as incident reports, audit summaries, and engineering updates
  • Interface with internal labs, quality, and external suppliers to resolve technical issues and sustain shipment readiness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with automotive fuel systems or engine systems is a strong advantage
  • Experience leading root cause analysis, corrective actions, and audit responses will help you excel
  • You'll stand out if you have supported production launches and sustaining engineering efforts
  • Prior work collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing organizations is highly valued
  • Experience setting up and sequencing validation tests is a plus
  • A track record of clear technical documentation and reporting in an engineering environment is beneficial
