Legal Secretary
Our client, a well-established law firm in Fort Worth is seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys and paralegals across several practice areas. This is an in-office role suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
This position plays a vital role in keeping attorneys and legal teams operating efficiently. Responsibilities include a combination of legal document preparation, scheduling, filing, and day-to-day administrative support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct secretarial support to multiple attorneys and paralegals
- Drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal correspondence, pleadings, and briefs
- Managing incoming and outgoing legal documents and correspondence
- Performing electronic filings with courts and administrative agencies
- Maintaining electronic and paper filing systems
- Managing calendars, appointments, meetings, and conference rooms
- Coordinating travel arrangements
- Handling phone calls, screening inquiries, relaying messages, and greeting visitors
- Assisting with attorney and paralegal timekeeping
- Developing and updating document templates, procedures, and formatting standards
- Operating standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, fax machines)
- Maintaining a clean, organized workspace and consistent, on-time attendance
- Supporting additional administrative needs as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of legal secretarial or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF software
- Experience with document management systems (e.g., iManage or similar)
- Familiarity with legal time entry software (e.g., Elite WebView or comparable)
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities
- Professional communication skills when working with clients, attorneys, and staff
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
