Our client, a well-established Dallas law firm located in Uptown is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with strong Trusts & Estates, and/or Probate experience who is looking for a sophisticated practice environment, a collaborative team, and the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.
The Role
The Legal Assistant will provide support to attorneys in the Trusts & Estates section, primarily for probate matters, with some involvement in trusts & estates litigation. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy law firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with probate and estate administration matters from inception through completion
- Prepare, organize, and file probate pleadings and related legal documents
- Assist with court filings, deadlines, correspondence, and case management
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other professionals
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper files
- Assist with discovery and other litigation-related matters as needed
- Manage attorney calendars, meetings, deadlines, and day-to-day administrative needs
- Provide additional support on Trusts & Estates matters as needed
Qualifications
- 4+ years of legal assistant experience
- Strong experience supporting probate matters is highly preferred
- Some litigation experience is a plus
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal technology
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
