About Dalgleish Construction
Founded in 1981 in Austin, Texas, Dalgleish Construction brings architectural visions to life through craftsmanship and collaboration. We specialize in high-end residential projects that require precision, artistry, and an unwavering respect for design. Every home we build reflects a relentless commitment to quality and lasting relationships.
We are looking for the best builders out there—those who thrive at the intersection of the art and science of building, who find joy in the process, and who are driven by a deep commitment to craft. The kind of people who are energized by doing what others consider impossible.
At Dalgleish, we are guided by core principles that define how we work and why we excel: we Sweat the Details to elevate every decision and finish, Seek to Serve by honoring the trust placed in us, Do Hard Things by thriving on challenges, and Leverage the Lessons by learning from every experience to continually improve. These values aren't slogans—they are lived out daily in the way we build, collaborate, and grow.
Let us tell you more about the opportunity to work with this great team!
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Farm & Ranch team, based in our Fredericksburg office and supporting projects throughout Central Texas—including our Frio Cañon development in Leakey, TX. This role works closely with the Senior Superintendent to deliver high-quality rural residential projects with thoughtful coordination, steady leadership, and a deep respect for both process and people.
A successful candidate brings forward-thinking schedule planning, strong communication skills, and a grounded, team-first attitude. Relationships matter here—both inside the company and out in the field. This person will also help tie the Farm & Ranch division into the broader Dalgleish mission, bringing just the right level of process to support a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Collaborate with the Senior Superintendent to lead all phases of rural high-end residential construction from preconstruction through close-out
- Keep a close eye on project schedules, budgets, and resources to make sure everything stays on track
- Help guide project financials: tracking costs, managing budgets, and finding smart ways to build without cutting corners
- Team up with the Dalgleish estimating group early in the project to help plan, budget, and value engineer (when needed)
- Help the Farm & Ranch crew stay connected to the bigger Dalgleish picture
Team and People Development
- Support and grow the field team through steady leadership, clear expectations, and encouragement
- Be the go-to for performance check-ins and goal setting for the Farm & Ranch crew
- Help keep morale strong and the team unified—making sure folks feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger
- Bring a thoughtful approach to leadership that respects people and builds trust
Design and Procurement
- Work closely with architects and design teams to guide selections and keep the vision on track
- Handle material procurement—keeping lead times and delivery to rural sites running smoothly
- Review drawings and shop drawings to make sure the details are dialed in
Trades and Community Engagement
- Build solid relationships with trade partners, design teams, and clients
- Support the Superintendent in keeping subcontractor scopes, contracts, and expectations clear and organized
- Help coordinate subcontractor involvement throughout the life of the project, staying in tune with quality and schedule needs
- Get out into the community—connect with trades, attend events, and help keep Dalgleish respected in the Hill Country
- Be a trusted, recognizable face for our company in the field
Execution and Oversight
- Keep documentation, permitting, safety, and quality on point from start to finish
- Make sure communication flows well between the field, office, and partners so the job runs smoothly
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of residential construction experience, ideally in high-end custom homes
- 5+ years in a project leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent experience gained through the trades
- Strong communication and team skills—you know how to keep people informed, aligned, and moving forward
- Proven ability to juggle multiple responsibilities at once without losing sight of the details
- Solid computer skills, including Procore (preferred), Microsoft Office, and other construction management tools
- A strong grasp of scheduling and logistics, especially for projects in rural or remote areas
- The ability to lead with both competence and care—earning trust while setting a high bar
- A grounded, solution-oriented mindset with respect for people and craftsmanship
