Role Overview:

In this full-time role, the Dialysis RN will deliver comprehensive education and support to patients and caregivers opting for home dialysis therapy. This position involves initial home visits to evaluate readiness for home therapy, alongside ongoing training and follow-up within a clinical setting. You will be instrumental in managing patient care, developing nursing plans, and ensuring effective communication with physicians and healthcare team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments according to established protocols.
  • Provide age-specific care and adhere to prescribed hemodialysis procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures and ongoing care requirements.
  • Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and OSHA regulations.
  • Participate in research studies and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and ensure readiness for any potential evacuations.
  • Manage inventory and ensure efficient use of supplies and equipment.
  • Support team development through training and mentorship of new staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school; a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, with dialysis experience highly desirable.
  • Current state RN licensure and CPR certification as per the American Heart Association.
  • ICU/CCU experience is preferred, along with hemodialysis training.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel.
  • Proficient computer skills are a plus.
