Key Responsibilities:
Lead structural engineering efforts from concept through construction administration.
Serve as a key client contact—attending meetings with architects, contractors, and owners.
Oversee structural documentation, design calculations, and preparation of construction documents.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals; conduct site observations as needed.
Ensure quality and coordination across disciplines; uphold Bennett & Pless design standards.
Perform QA/QC reviews for internal and external project deliverables.
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineering staff, providing technical oversight and professional growth guidance.
Contribute to team culture and participate in company events often hosted at the Atlanta HQ.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
15+ years of experience in structural engineering.
Strong proficiency in design software including: ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, Tekla, and Microsoft Suite.
Working knowledge of Revit preferred.
Project management and client-facing experience required.
Expertise in steel, concrete, masonry, and other materials in low- to mid-rise structures.
