Job Overview

The Structural Senior Project Manager, P.E., will oversee structural engineering teams, managing design and coordination tasks for a variety of projects. This role involves providing structural design, serving as the primary liaison for project coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and managing projects during the construction administration phase. The position is ideal for a client-focused professional with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage structural engineering teams in their design and drafting tasks, ensuring high-quality deliverables for diverse projects.
  • Provide structural design, either directly or through team members, for buildings, renovations, assessments, or infrastructure projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project coordination, collaborating with architects, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
  • Oversee construction administration, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, conducting site visits, and participating in project meetings as needed.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, building codes, and client specifications.
  • Mentor team members, fostering technical expertise and professional development.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service and creative solutions.
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and quality goals.
  • Travel occasionally to support project needs and client engagements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree a plus).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of practice required.
  • 7–12+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on design and project management.
  • Proven expertise in structural design for institutional, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or similar tools; familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and structural engineering principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client service skills, with a knack for creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
