Overview:
Our client—a global leader in developing advanced electronic systems for U.S. government defense initiatives—is seeking a skilled Radar Systems Engineer 2 to support the integration and customization of software-based radar technologies for U.S. military applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems alongside both U.S. and overseas development teams, contributing to the next generation of defense innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customize and integrate foreign-developed radar software to meet U.S. defense specifications.
- Collaborate with international software developers and domestic defense stakeholders to ensure seamless performance and compliance.
- Contribute to the entire software lifecycle: requirements gathering, architecture, coding, integration, validation, and deployment.
- Execute system-level testing and ensure solutions meet U.S. military cybersecurity and operational standards.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, design specifications, and system validation plans.
- Troubleshoot and optimize code performance, addressing integration and compatibility challenges.
- Interface with systems, hardware, and radar engineering teams to support full system integration and certification.
- Stay current on defense technology advancements and recommend innovations or refinements.
- Support post-deployment software maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure operational success.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience, ideally in aerospace or defense.
- Proficient in C++, Java, Python, or other modern programming languages.
- Experience with multithreaded and real-time system development.
- Familiarity with radar, EO/IR, LiDAR, or sensor-based data and integration.
- Exposure to DoD cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FIPS 140-2).
- Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%, including to Israel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Active U.S. security clearance.
- Background in radar signal processing, computer vision, or autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with Kalman filters, track association, and sensor fusion frameworks.
- Experience with RTOS (VxWorks, QNX, RTEMS), MIL-STD-1553, CAN bus, or RF signal chains.
- Exposure to electro-optical/infrared sensors or real-time video/image analysis.
- Prior work on military platforms or international defense collaborations.
- Fluency in Hebrew is a plus.
