Title Manager

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Title Manager to lead their Land Administration team. This role is critical to managing all aspects of land title operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of oil and gas title law, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This position is an onsite role based at our client’s office in Morgantown, WV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Title Processing Leadership: Oversee the Land Administration team to ensure title processing is accurate, timely, and efficient.
  • Specialized Title Projects: Manage special title review projects assigned by the Land Department.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Partner with external title firms and land service companies to meet the title needs of the Land Department and Operations effectively.
  • Title Order Oversight: Supervise the entire title order process, including initiation, review, approval, and tracking.
  • Curative Process Management: Direct the resolution of title issues to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence for acquisitions to verify title accuracy and land records.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, providing regular performance evaluations and fostering professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a Juris Doctor (JD) degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas land title management.
  • In-depth understanding of oil and gas title law, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with title research software and databases.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional approach to working with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
