Our client, a highly regarded and growing Houston-area law firm, is seeking an experienced Corporate/Tax Attorney, ideally with a CPA or LLM designation, to join their practice. This is an excellent leadership opportunity for an attorney who thrives in a client-facing, advisory-driven role and enjoys working on complex corporate planning, tax, and wealth transfer matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses. The ideal candidate will play a significant role in leadership by mentoring attorneys in the practice group and collaborating with other partners in the firm.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in corporate/transactional law, with a tax background, and wealth preservation strategies, along with the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented counsel. This role involves advising clients on corporate planning, tax-efficient structuring, and business succession matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel high-net-worth individuals and families on asset protection and tax minimization strategies
- Assist with business succession planning for closely held and family-owned businesses
- Provide guidance on corporate planning, tax implications of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations
- Collaborate with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive client solutions
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license and in good standing with the State Bar
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and/or LLM in Taxation preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of corporate experience
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients and complex estates
- Exceptional drafting, analytical, and communication skills
