Position Overview

The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator with a strong defense background who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role offers significant hands-on experience, including direct client interaction, courtroom exposure, and the ability to manage cases independently.

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school (top 10% preferred)
• Active license and good standing with the Texas State Bar
• Minimum of 5 years of defense litigation experience
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • General civil litigation
  • Complex litigation
  • Insurance defense
  • Product liability
  • Appellate law
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of federal and state court procedures

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload independently through all phases of litigation, from inception to trial or settlement
• Develop case strategies and provide thoughtful legal analysis and recommendations
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
• Prepare witnesses and organize trial exhibits
• Communicate effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Ensure compliance with court rules, scheduling orders, and critical deadlines
