Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary - Family Law 69862
Our client, a busy and well-established family law firm in Galveston County, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their team. This is a key support role within a small firm environment where organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail are essential.
The firm maintains a high-volume caseload (approximately 150–170 active cases). While the attorney handles the majority of drafting, the Legal Secretary plays a critical role in keeping the day-to-day operations of the practice running smoothly and ensuring deadlines and logistics are handled without error.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and case support to the attorney and paralegal
- Manage calendaring, docketing, and scheduling for hearings, mediations, and trials
- Coordinate communications with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Assist with discovery organization and tracking deadlines
- Prepare, format, and finalize legal documents and correspondence
- Organize and maintain both electronic and physical case files
- Ensure all deadlines, settings, and case activity are accurately tracked

Qualifications
- Prior family law experience preferred
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and follow-through
