Position Summary
We are seeking a results-driven, hands-on General Manager to oversee a high-performing operation. This role is responsible for full ownership of the facility, including day-to-day operations, team leadership, financial performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a people-first leadership role, requiring a leader who can build, develop, and motivate teams while driving operational efficiency and delivering exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment and is equally comfortable setting strategy and executing at a tactical level.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage all aspects of facility operations, including receiving, storage, distribution, and shipping
- Ensure seamless day-to-day execution across all functional areas
- Maintain operational flow, efficiency, and service reliability
- Hire, train, coach, and develop operations staff
- Set schedules, assign responsibilities, and drive accountability
- Foster a high-performance, team-oriented culture
- Provide ongoing feedback, performance management, and leadership development
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and strong control processes
- Utilize WMS/ERP systems to monitor, track, and optimize inventory
- Ensure alignment between physical inventory and system data
- Improve productivity, throughput, and cost efficiency across operations
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including labor productivity, inventory accuracy, turnaround time, and service levels
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Enforce safety standards, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices
- Ensure consistent service delivery across multiple customers/clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business goals
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and expand service offerings
- Partner with leadership on long-term growth initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in 3PL, industrial logistics, or complex operational environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or warehouse leadership
- Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced, operational environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Experience with WMS, ERP, or similar systems
Preferred
- Background in industries such as manufacturing, construction, or energy
- Experience managing multi-client operations
- Experience with Rail access and project cargo
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to perform medium work, including exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while moving throughout the facility to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to sit for extended periods when performing administrative or computer-based work.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or ramps as needed to access work areas.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, and bend as required to perform job duties.
- Ability to reach, push, pull, and lift materials and equipment in a variety of directions and positions.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for handling, grasping, and operating tools or equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking clearly and exchanging detailed information with team members.
