Join a team working on innovative electrical power solutions for the rapidly growing data center industry. This is ideal for an Electrical Engineer with experience in power systems who enjoys working on the design, specification, and integration of complex electrical equipment.
In this role, you will support the development of modular electrical skids designed to streamline data center construction. These systems incorporate transformers, switchgear, and other electrical components that are assembled remotely and installed and wired on-site. The position will involve working with high-voltage electrical systems and collaborating across engineering, fabrication, and installation activities.
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
Develop and support electrical designs for power distribution systems and modular data center skids.
Design and specify electrical systems incorporating transformers, switchgear, and related electrical components.
Select and specify electrical equipment and components based on project requirements and applicable standards.
Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and other engineering documentation.
Support the integration of electrical components into skid-mounted systems for remote fabrication and field installation.
Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and buildable.
Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning activities.
Review electrical layouts and identify potential design, installation, or integration issues.
Assist with troubleshooting electrical and power system issues as they arise.
Ensure electrical designs and equipment selections meet applicable codes, standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
Communicate technical information effectively with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and update designs as project requirements change.
Support efforts to improve the efficiency and speed of data center construction and installation processes.
Follow all safety procedures and policies, particularly when working around high-voltage equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong understanding of electrical power systems and power distribution.
Experience working with transformers, switchgear, and other electrical distribution equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and their application to industrial or commercial power systems.
Ability to evaluate electrical components and equipment based on system requirements.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects or priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working with high-voltage electrical systems and following strict safety procedures.
Ability to work effectively with both engineering and field installation teams.
Experience with modular electrical systems, power distribution equipment, data centers, industrial facilities, or similar applications is a plus.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably involving power systems, electrical distribution, or industrial/commercial electrical equipment.
Experience with transformers, switchgear, or high-voltage systems is strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
Combination of office, engineering, fabrication, and field environments.
May require occasional visits to fabrication or installation sites.
Work may involve exposure to electrical equipment, including high-voltage systems, during fabrication, testing, installation, or commissioning activities.
Appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to electrical safety procedures are required when working in applicable areas.
