Chemical Process and Project Engineer/Manager
Our client is seeking a local engineer to be home-based to design and manage projects for chemical and food customers in the Chicago area with 10-15% travel. This 30-year-old company maintains a fully staffed engineering group with a robust pipeline of projects, which is why this position is open.
Will meet with clients, reviewing engineering documents and flow diagrams, and collaborate with corporate engineering teams. This person could do all pieces of a project or some - including equipment specification, cost estimating, project tracking, equipment installation, and startup. This job also includes business development.
Mentorship from a Senior Engineer based in Chicago, very low turnover, the ability to work from home, a bonus plan, a 401(k), and the potential for long-term ownership.
- Chemical Engineer who is local with 3-15 years of experience out of chemicals, foods, or consumer products with examples that highlight strong engineering skills.
- Soft skills needed include self-motivation, integrity, have a customer-facing personality, and possess an eagerness to develop new business
- Pluses: Experience managing projects from design through installation; prior work with an A&E production firm; support; examples of hands-on ability; exposure to controls, instrumentation, or civil engineering.
