Vice President of Construction
Vice President of Construction
A well-established, family-owned commercial construction and general contracting firm — with over five decades of history and a strong reputation in the community — is seeking an experienced construction executive to provide senior leadership across estimating, project management, and field operations.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a true executive seat, reporting directly to ownership, in a company small enough that one leader can genuinely shape its future.
What You'll Do
• Provide executive leadership across estimating, preconstruction, project management, and field operations.
• Set the standard for project execution, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction company-wide.
• Lead and develop a team of project managers, project coordinators, and future construction leaders.
• Oversee project profitability, budget, schedule, and client satisfaction across the full portfolio.
• Guide teams through risk management, contractual issues, and dispute resolution before they impact cost or relationships.
• Serve as a trusted executive contact for key clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
• Bring your own leadership approach while upholding the company's long-standing values and reputation.
What You Bring
• 10+ years of progressive commercial construction management experience with a General Contractor.
• Strong estimating and preconstruction experience across multiple project delivery methods.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong financial acumen, with real experience managing project profitability.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Above all — high character, integrity, and a great attitude. This company is looking for the right person first, and the right resume second.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
What's Offered
• Competitive executive-level compensation, including a bonus structure tied to margin performance.
• A genuine executive seat with a respected, community-rooted employer.
• The chance to lead and build within a company that's thrived for over 50 years.
