Futures & Derivates Associate Attorney (Mid-level to Senior)
We are seeking a highly qualified Futures & Derivatives Associate Attorney to join a dynamic legal team in either Washington, DC or New York. This role offers a unique opportunity for an attorney with substantial experience in futures and derivatives law to impact financial market participants significantly.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience handling complex issues related to US commodity, futures, and derivatives regulatory frameworks. You will advise clients on transactional and enforcement matters, including the regulation of futures exchanges, swap execution facilities, clearinghouses, and more. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with professionals in various corporate law practice groups, such as Blockchain & Cryptocurrency, Bank Regulation, Broker-Dealer Compliance, Investment Management, and Securities Litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on futures and derivatives laws and regulations.
- Structure, negotiate, and draft agreements related to futures and derivatives transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client needs in a variety of industries.
- Stay informed on evolving regulatory landscapes and provide insights to clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of two years of relevant post-JD experience in futures and derivatives law.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
