Seeking a Senior Accountant, due to retirement. You will be an integral part of the accounting team, building processes and procedures to support internal stakeholders for a rapidly growing, technology-driven manufacturing company. This role is responsible for accounting operations and will take on a variety of duties as the organization matures, ensuring that all reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
 
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
  •  Preparation of financial, tax, and budget reports within established deadlines; responsible for forecasting and variance analysis
  • Assist in the preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, cash management, and other relevant processes including AR/AP, sales tax, property tax, and fixed assets
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing process; research and resolve discrepancies between GL and subsidiary ledger accounts
  • Assist in the audit process, establishment of and adherence to Internal Controls, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures; supports VP of Accounting on auditing procedures, processes, and requirements
  • Work with the Executive Team and Plant Manager to develop and maintain operational performance metrics that can be used to measure and improve the business
  • Recommend updates to accounting systems to improve efficiency and automation
  • Assist in banking activity and compliance
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
 

Senior Accountant Profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree a plus
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the scrap or metal industries
  • Strong accounting background with corporate accounting/general ledger experience
  • Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, AR/AP, sales tax, property tax, and fixed assets
  • Strong background and understanding of ERP systems; NetSuite ERP System experience is highly desired
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • High energy with the ability to manage time and effort for maximum results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
