Legal Practice Assistant – Labor & Employment – Investigations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investigations Support:
-
Provide administrative and case assistant support to the Investigations team
-
Maintain and update investigation case lists, tracking deadlines and budgets
-
Ensure key dates are calendared in master calendars and systems (e.g., Compulaw)
-
Attend and support weekly investigations team meetings
-
Schedule and coordinate investigative interviews (Zoom and in-person)
-
Assist with drafting, proofreading, and assembling investigative reports and legal documents
Administrative & Operational Support:
-
Manage attorney calendars, travel, and speaking engagements
-
Prioritize workflow and manage multiple competing deadlines
-
Coordinate logistics for conferences, presentations, and meetings
-
Review and route incoming correspondence appropriately
-
Organize and maintain files, binders, and documentation
-
Maintain shared and individual calendars in Outlook
-
Enter attorney billable time and coordinate with billing teams
-
Prepare expense reports, check requests, and vendor payments
-
Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed
Additional Support:
-
Assist with business development activities and related projects
-
Support litigation-related tasks such as formatting pleadings, e-filing, and TOA/TOC
-
Collaborate with internal departments to complete projects and initiatives
-
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal and personnel information
-
Deliver excellent customer service to attorneys, staff, and external contacts
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or legal/paralegal certification preferred
-
7+ years of experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or executive assistant
-
Experience in labor and employment law and/or investigations strongly preferred
-
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience with systems such as iManage, Adobe Professional, CCC Macros, and billing systems preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

High level of discretion when handling confidential information

Proactive, self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams
