Are you a mission-driven leader with financial savvy, community presence, and strategic vision to guide a thriving nonprofit through its next chapter? Amani Family Services — a Fort Wayne organization with deep roots serving immigrant and refugee families — is searching for an exceptional CEO ready to lead with purpose, build for the future, and champion a team that does extraordinarily meaningful work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Set and drive a meaningful strategic plan for the organization — a recognized priority and an immediate opportunity for impact.

Ensure financial sustainability for a ~$2M organization, navigating a complex mix of government grants, foundation funding, and contributed revenue in a challenging funding environment.

Serve as the external face and storyteller for Amani — cultivating relationships with elected officials, business leaders, donors, and the broader community.

Protect and strengthen a strong, people-first organizational culture built on trust, empowerment, and genuine connection to the communities Amani serves.

Report to and work collaboratively with an engaged Board of Directors on governance, fundraising, and organizational vision.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

7–10 years of progressive leadership experience.

Strong financial acumen, including familiarity with grant compliance, fund accounting, and nonprofit budget management.

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

Demonstrated fundraising ability and the instinct to tell an organization’s story in a way that moves people to act.

Experience in nonprofit management, preferably with government-funded programming.

A community builder — visible, respected, and effective at establishing relationships that matter.

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

A genuine alignment with Amani’s mission and the work of serving immigrant and refugee communities is a meaningful plus.

Familiarity with Allen County’s nonprofit and human services landscape.

Experience managing complex, multi-source government funding (federal and/or state).

A leadership style defined by humility, authenticity, and the ability to earn trust across diverse backgrounds.

Ready to Lead with Purpose?

This is more than a leadership role — it’s an opportunity to anchor a community, sustain work that changes lives, and carry forward a legacy built by people who believed deeply in the families they serve. If that speaks to you, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking local or commutable candidates; relocation is not provided.
