We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Reading area to identify a Senior Cost Accountant for its finance team. This position will have visibility across several U.S. manufacturing sites and will play an important role in understanding product costs, inventory, plant performance, and operational results.

This is a great fit for someone with a strong manufacturing accounting background who enjoys digging into the numbers, working directly with operations, and finding ways to improve both financial performance and accounting processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage and maintain costing activities across multiple manufacturing locations
  • Review product costs and help ensure labor, materials, and overhead are accurately reflected
  • Investigate manufacturing variances and communicate key drivers to finance and operational leadership
  • Analyze inventory activity, including valuation, cycle counts, scrap, and obsolete inventory
  • Work closely with plant teams to better understand operational results and areas of opportunity
  • Prepare and analyze cost information used for management reporting and decision-making
  • Look for opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs, and create more consistent processes across locations
  • Participate in accounting and finance initiatives such as ERP projects, process improvements, and internal control enhancements
  • Provide supporting information and analysis for internal and external audits
  • Assist with budgeting, reporting, and special projects as needed
  • Occasionally travel to other manufacturing locations

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing costs, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
  • Experience supporting multiple plants or locations is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working within an ERP system
  • Experience with Infor Syteline is a plus
  • CPA or CMA is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work effectively with both finance and operations teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
