We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor - Heat Treat to manage a well-established department within an industry leading manufacturing organization. This person is responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent operation of all heat treat processes, equipment, and personnel.

As part of the company’s management team, the Production Supervisor - Heat Treat oversees daily production, employee development, scheduling, quality compliance, equipment performance, and continuous improvement while ensuring customer, company, and regulatory requirements are met.

Responsibilities Include:

• Lead daily Heat Treat Department operations, including employee assignments, equipment coordination, production scheduling, vacation coverage, and weekend overtime in partnership with production leadership.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s Heat Treat management system, CQI-9 standards, customer-specific requirements, industry standards, process controls and parameters, and scheduling requirements.
• Manage plant-specific work instructions, including communication and training related to new or revised instructions. Train and develop employees in all required areas including company requirements, customer demand, and lessons learned, and verify training effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues, interpret heat treat data to ensure specifications are met, and support corrective actions when issues arise.
• Perform required verifications and confirm compliance with the Heat Treat Responsibility Matrix.
• Manage vendor reviews and certifications related to quench oil, temperature uniformity surveys, system accuracy tests, thermocouples, instrumentation, and other heat treat services and materials.
• Meet departmental productivity goals measured by pounds, pieces processed, OEE, and other applicable performance metrics.
• Maintain accurate records of heat treating activities and support corporate requirements and communications, including Heat Treat Maintenance Management.
• Lead departmental continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities, implementing changes, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary counseling for Heat Treat employees as required.
• Represent the department and plant during monthly Heat Treat meetings.
• Maintain departmental safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

• High School Diploma or GED required. College degree, certification(s) or additional education in metallurgy or related metal sciences a plus.
• 5+ years of experience working in heat treat operations including leadership, demonstrated knowledge of metallurgical processes. Familiarity with CQI-9 a plus.
• Outstanding, communication (verbal and written), presentation, interpersonal, and team building abilities skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, ERP/MRP systems, and related software.
