Ammonia Refrigeration Mechanic

Responsibilities
- Take instrument readings.
- Be responsible for keeping accurate records of equipment.
- Add oil to machines.
- Draw oil from system.
- Will be working around various chemicals.
- Defrost Gyro freezers with hot gas or water
- Assist other mechanics as needed.
- Communicate with the Mechanics and Supervisors
- Must be able to pass refrigeration test with an average of 68 or above
Requirements
- Must be able to cover various shifts as needed.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Must have Mechanical ability.
- Must have basic Math.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Must know how to start up a 2 Stage Ammonia System.
- Must know how to rebuild pumps, motors, oilers, etc.
- Must take up to 4 RETA classes to get Class A
- Must be able to work in freezer.
- Must take up to 24 hours HazMat training.
Special Training
- Lockout/Tagout procedures. Confined Space Entry Procedures.
- HAZCOM
- May be required to train on forklift operation
