CNC Programmer
The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer (Couplings) is responsible for developing and modifying CNC programs used in the production of coupling components. This role ensures machining accuracy, efficiency, and conformance to specifications while collaborating with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to optimize tooling, processes, and overall quality. Attention to detail, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and company standards are essential for success.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Write, revise, debug, edit, and store CNC programs; input, retrieve, and transfer program data using machine controller systems.
- Develop and maintain setup documentation, cutter lists, First Article Inspection (FAI) records, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Conduct trial runs or simulations and monitor machine performance to verify program accuracy, detect malfunctions, and ensure part conformance.
- Determine machining sequences, compute dimensions and toolpaths, select cutting tools, and adjust wear offsets to maintain tolerance requirements.
- Set up, adjust, and operate precision machinery during production as needed.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and metric/imperial dimensions to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on assigned machines.
- Monitor machines to identify tool wear, malfunctions, and quality deviations and correct as required.
- Proficiency in English language including spelling, grammar, speaking, listening, and reading comprehension.
- Master manual machining processes for precision components.
- Work independently on CNC programming assignments, including writing programs from scratch.
- Collaborate effectively in troubleshooting complex machining operations.
- 5–8 years of Programming experience with CNC Vertical and Horizontal Lathes manufacturing parts 16” to 78” in diameter. Experience with Okuma and/or Mazak programming languages.
- Regular, full-time position requiring a minimum in-office schedule of 40 hours per week.
- Must agree to (and pass) a background check, physical, and drug screening testing.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
