JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The Inside Technical Sales Representative works as a technical sales consultant to outside sales, engineers, and internal team in the design, application and sale of products
  • Provide technical and product knowledge to customers and advise them on product usage to improve production
  • Provide solid problem-solving abilities with the competence to make recommendations
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders
  • Negotiate process or terms of sales or service agreements
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms
  • Quote prices, credit terms, or other bid specifications
  • Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations
  • Select or assist customers in selecting products based on customer needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations
  • Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products
  • Collaborate with colleagues, in-house machine shop, sales engineers and sales agents to exchange technical support information and to custom engineer solutions for specific customer applications that require conceptual design modifications based on existing products
  • Provide feedback to product design teams so that products can be tailored to clients' needs
  • Obtain detailed technical drawings or specifications for use by engineering departments in bid preparations
  • Consult with engineers regarding technical problems with products

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, parts lists and product specifications
  • General knowledge of sales in an equipment/manufacturing environment desirable
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical discipline OR equivalent experience considered
  • Experienced in Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP systems, and Salesforce
  • This position is considered regular, full-time, and requires a minimum in-office schedule of 40 hours per week. This may also include occasional travel and ability to obtain a valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Must agree to (and pass) a background check and drug screening testing
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
