We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Pallet Assistant Supervisor to support daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role assists with supervising production employees, coordinating workflow, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring production schedules are met. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, experience operating nail guns and heavy machinery, and the ability to effectively communicate with production teams and forklift operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising daily production operations and employees.
  • Operate nail guns and heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with forklift operators to coordinate production needs.
  • Review production schedules and provide instructions to employees using established templates.
  • Conduct pre-shift checks to ensure proper setup, material availability, grade specifications, and safety requirements are met.
  • Verify quality control (QC) checklists are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Train new employees and ensure adherence to company procedures, including pallet stacking standards.
  • Monitor product quality and address production or quality concerns proactively.
  • Create and manage task lists for cleanup projects, maintenance needs, and production improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records and communicate schedule expectations to employees.
  • Identify and report material shortages, repair needs, and production bottlenecks.
  • Ensure consistent documentation and reporting practices across shifts.
  • Track employee productivity and performance metrics.
  • Monitor employee attendance, breaks, and lunch schedules to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Delegate work assignments and additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Communicate potential production delays to sales and shipping teams.
  • Spend time on the production floor to support employees and maintain workflow.
  • Coordinate with the main office regarding completed orders and scheduling priorities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production, pallet, or industrial environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy machinery.
  • Experience using pneumatic nail guns.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and workplace safety.
  • Ability to train, coach, and lead employees.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in tracking production metrics and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to work safely around machinery and industrial equipment.
