SENIOR COUNSEL ATTORNEY - FUND SERVICES

A leading AmLaw 50 global law firm is seeking a talented Senior Counsel Attorney to join its premier Fund Services Practice Group. This role offers a rare opportunity to lead engagements for top-tier venture capital and growth equity clients across the full fund life cycle. The ideal attorney brings deep fund formation experience, sophisticated regulatory knowledge, and a passion for advising both sponsors and institutional investors.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 8+ years of substantive fund formation experience working with sponsors
  • Strong background handling structuring, formation, and operation of investment funds
  • Significant experience advising on the Securities Act, Exchange Act, Investment Company Act, and Investment Advisers Act
  • Substantial experience representing institutional investors in private investment funds
  • Demonstrated ability to advise on legal, regulatory, and compliance considerations across complex fund activities
  • Prior experience at a national or international law firm of comparable rank
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-directed, collaborative, and committed to outstanding client service

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fund formation matters for venture capital and growth equity sponsors
  • Advise clients on fund structuring, regulatory strategy, operational matters, and compliance frameworks
  • Represent institutional investors in private fund investments and ongoing program needs
  • Serve as a trusted counselor on sensitive governance, regulatory, and transactional issues
  • Collaborate closely with cross-office colleagues to support a globally-integrated fund services practice
  • Mentor junior team members and help strengthen the group’s knowledge base and best practices

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Expected annual salary of $435,000, as determined by experience and market factors
