This role partners closely with the CFO, Finance, and Operations and plays a key part in ensuring compliance, driving tax strategy, and supporting business decisions tied to capital investment, plant operations, and growth initiatives.

This is a highly visible role requiring both strong technical expertise and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage quarterly estimated tax payments and support tax-related cash flow forecasting

  • Review financial statements to ensure accurate reporting of taxable income and tax positions

  • Manage tax audits and resolve issues with federal, state, and local taxing authorities

  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax regulations and assess impact to the business

  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance and Operations on tax implications of CapEx, plant expansions, and supply chain decisions

  • Support M&A activity, including tax due diligence, structuring, and post-acquisition integration

  • Lead proactive tax planning strategies to reduce effective tax rate and optimize cash flow

  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants

  • Drive process improvements, reporting efficiency, and automation across the tax function

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required (MST a plus)

  • 6–10+ years of progressive tax experience (public + industry preferred)

  • Strong multi-state tax experience (income, sales/use, and property tax)

  • Experience managing audits and working with taxing authorities

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments strongly preferred

  • Understanding of fixed assets / CapEx and project-based revenue (percentage-of-completion a plus)

  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments is a plus

  • ERP exposure (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred

Why This Role

  • Direct exposure to CFO, executive leadership, and private equity stakeholders

  • High-impact role tied to capital strategy, expansion, and operational decision-making

  • Opportunity to modernize and shape the tax function

  • Clear path toward Director / Head of Tax

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented tax professional with a strong compliance foundation

  • Brings increasing exposure to tax strategy, planning, and business partnership

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment with evolving priorities
