Overnight Warehouse Manager (Food Distribution)
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Location: On-site in Sacramento, CA (overnight shift)
Note: Must have hands-on warehouse leadership experience (overnight operations strongly preferred) and experience managing labor, productivity, and order selection/load processes.

Our client is a leading Northern California wholesale food distributor serving independent grocery, convenience, and specialty retailers across a major territory. They operate multiple distribution centers and move a broad mix of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products with a strong focus on dependable next-day service.
Job Description
- Oversee overnight order selection, merge, staging, and loading for dry and temperature-sensitive products
- Direct and coordinate full order cycle execution to drive accuracy, speed, and on-time departures
- Optimize routing and workflows to improve productivity and reduce errors and rework
- Recruit, train, schedule, and retain overnight warehouse staff
- Manage labor planning and control labor cost, including overtime and staffing levels
- Analyze operational budgets and shipment flows and adjust plans to hit service and cost targets
- Maintain a safe, disciplined, high-accountability operation that meets daily volume demands
Qualifications
- 3+ years of warehouse leadership experience in distribution, foodservice, grocery, or similar high-volume environments
- Experience running order selection, staging, and load operations (temperature-controlled product experience is a big plus)
- Proven ability to hire, train, and lead teams on an overnight shift
- Strong labor planning skills, including overtime management and productivity expectations
- Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment (accuracy, throughput, on-time performance)
- Strong communication, urgency, and problem-solving skills
