TIG Welder - Dallas
Our client is a division of a global leader in industrial food processing, providing a portfolio of global brands with complementary, industry-leading technologies for food production. Currently, they have a great opportunity for a talented and motivated TIG Welder to join their team in the Dallas, Texas area!
Job Overview:
Welders are responsible for fitting and welding steel, aluminum and stainless-steel parts using a MIG and/or TIG process and also to ensure each job is run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.
What will you do?
- Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification
- Use jigs, fixtures, and assembly blueprints
- Locate positions and welds parts using TIG and MIG welding equipment as specified in blueprints
- Adjust welding equipment to desired amperage and wire feed.
- Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
- Weld components/materials based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings
- Assemble items as instructed by floor supervisor
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
- Follow all safety rules and quality standards
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Prepare product for shipment
Qualifications/Essential Functions:
- Proficient with various hand tools including but not limited to, TIG welding tools, MIG welding tools, spot welding tools, stud gun, hand grinder, and drill
- Able to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, travelers
- Adept at using small hand and power tools
- Good paperwork and counting skills
- Trouble shoot as needed
- Knowledge of shop measurement
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, sit, and stand repeatedly
- Able to work and interact in a “Team” oriented department
- Commitment to maintenance of a clean organized and safe work environment.
- Willingness to assist other departments as directed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-5 years TIG welding experience.
- Proficient with various gauges and measuring devices
- Ability to read and interpret prints
- Strong understanding of dimensions and tolerancesStrong understanding of material propertiesAttentive to all safety precautions when operating machines.
