Project Engineer – Mechanical / Systems Design

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Onsite | Telford and/or Montgomeryville, PA | $80,000–$100,000 annually

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a mechanically minded Project Engineer to help design and engineer custom high-purity and ultrapure water systems. This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys CAD, equipment design, technical problem-solving, and working with sales and operations teams to turn customer requirements into practical solutions. Training and growth within this specialized industry are available.

What You’ll Do

Design and develop water treatment systems around water quality, capacity, layout, utilities, and customer specifications.

Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, P&IDs, and 2D layouts using AutoCAD or DraftSight.

Create 3D equipment and system models in SolidWorks to support purchasing, fabrication, and installation.

Develop bills of materials, cost estimates, and technical content for customer proposals.

Partner with sales to explain designs, answer technical questions, and refine proposed solutions.

Prepare project submittal and operations and maintenance documentation; assist with validation documentation as needed.

Standardize and improve designs by adapting proven configurations where appropriate.

Lead engineering handoffs to project management and field teams, and answer design questions during build and installation.

Develop spare parts and preventive maintenance recommendations with support from the engineering team.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology required; mechanical engineering background strongly preferred.

Approximately 1–3 years of engineering experience preferred; motivated early-career engineers are encouraged to apply.

Experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight for 2D drawings and SolidWorks for 3D modeling.

Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, technical writing, and communication skills.

Ability to manage competing projects, collaborate with customers and internal teams, and learn specialized water treatment applications.

Experience with water treatment or process equipment is a plus, not a requirement.

Work Environment & Travel

This position is onsite Monday through Friday at a location in Telford, Montgomeryville, or a combination of both. Approximately 5–10% travel, primarily in the Northeast. This is an engineering design and technical support role, not day-to-day project construction management.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual base salary of $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience, skills, and ability to contribute. Benefits include health insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and company holidays. Opportunities for professional growth are available.
