Estimator (Heavy Civil & Bridge)
Build Your Career with a Market Leader
We are a premier heavy civil contractor coming off a banner year of significant wins and unprecedented growth. With a robust backlog extending well into 2026, we are creating a new position for a motivated Estimator to join our team in Warwick.
This is not just another seat at a desk—this is a rare opportunity to work directly under and learn from our Vice President of Estimating. You will be mentored by an industry heavyweight who has led bids for landmark infrastructure, including massive $600M+ bridge projects.
We created this role to support our VP, allowing you to absorb knowledge from one of the best in the business while building your own expertise in complex heavy civil and design-build projects.
Why This Role?
-
Lucrative Compensation: In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a 10–20% annual bonus and a very strong benefits package.
-
Direct Mentorship: You won't be thrown to the wolves. You will be trained by executive leadership to master the art of competitive bidding.
-
Job Security: We are anchored by a massive backlog, including shortlists for a $75M Route 6 project and major upcoming bridge work in Newport.
-
Local Focus, No Travel: We value work-life balance. This role is based in our Warwick office with no overnight travel required.
-
Family Culture: We are a family-oriented company that values personal qualities and work ethic over rigid pedigree.
What You Will Do
You will serve as the right hand to the VP of Estimating, helping to drive accuracy and competitiveness in our bids for RIDOT, MassDOT, and other major public infrastructure clients.
-
Master the Details: Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, equipment, and material costs to build accurate foundations for our bids.
-
Technology & Strategy: Utilize Bid2Win software to assist in complex estimates and help develop design-build qualification packages.
-
Vendor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate subcontractor quotes to ensure we have the best partners for the job.
-
Learn the Process: Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid reviews, gaining a holistic view of how major projects are won.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for potential over perfection. While bridge experience is a plus, we value heavy civil experience and a willingness to learn above all else.
-
Experience: 2–5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred, but experience and attitude count for more).
-
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Bid2Win is preferred; strong Excel skills are a must.
-
The "It" Factor: You are detail-oriented, hungry to learn, and ready to contribute to a winning team.
The Projects You’ll Touch
You will gain exposure to some of the most critical infrastructure projects in New England, including:
-
Complex bridge rehabilitations and replacements.
-
Design-build pursuits for RIDOT.
-
Projects ranging from $500k utility work to $75M+ highway interchanges.
