CNC Machine Operator / Machinist – FANUC
Location: Westminster, MA | Near Fitchburg, Leominster & Gardner
Pay: $32.00–$42.00/hour + consistent overtime opportunities

The Opportunity
Are you an experienced CNC machinist who enjoys working on large, challenging parts rather than running the same small production job every day?
We are recruiting for a well-established, family-owned manufacturing company in Westminster, MA that is looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist to its team. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a company known for exceptional employee tenure, a collaborative shop environment, and opportunities to continue developing your machining skills.
This is a job-shop environment where work is built from prints and projects vary. You'll work with large-scale CNC equipment, perform your own setups, make program adjustments, select appropriate tooling, run jobs, and inspect your finished work.
What You'll Do

Set up and operate CNC turning and milling equipment utilizing FANUC controls

Review drawings and job documentation before beginning work

Determine and set up appropriate tooling

Review CNC programs and make edits or adjustments as needed

Machine steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components

Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments

Inspect completed work using precision measurement equipment, including dial calipers, micrometers, and a FARO laser tracker

Work within tolerances ranging approximately from .0005" to +/- .010", depending on the job

Perform light deburring before parts move to the deburring department

Maintain and clean assigned equipment and work areas

Maintain accurate and organized job documentation

Follow established manufacturing plans, shop practices, and safety procedures
What We're Looking For

At least 1½–2 years of CNC machining experience

Working knowledge of FANUC controls

CNC setup as well as machine operation experience

Ability to select and properly use tooling

Ability to make CNC program edits at the machine

Experience using precision inspection and measurement tools

Ability to read and work from technical drawings

Basic understanding of GD&T

Strong math and communication skills

CAD experience is a plus

Ability to lift, climb as needed, and stand for extended periods

Comfortable working around very large equipment and components
You don't need to know everything on day one. Candidates should bring a solid machining foundation and a willingness to continue learning. The company strongly supports cross-training between turning and milling and provides the opportunity to learn from highly experienced machinists.
Schedule
Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–5:00 PM
Friday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Saturday: 6:00 AM–11:00 AM
Memorial Day through Labor Day: Saturdays off.
This schedule provides consistent overtime earning opportunities throughout much of the year.
