Financial Manager 

Classification: Exempt – Salary Reports To: President/CEO

Location: Rhinelander, WI

 

Position Summary

The Financial Manager is responsible for delivering accurate financial information to support management decision‑making and for developing the organization’s financial management practices. This role oversees internal and external financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the overall control of financial processes in alignment with corporate objectives and guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate statutory and internal financial reports.

  • Deliver business‑oriented management reporting to support operational decision‑making.

  • Provide insightful financial analysis, including profitability, cash flow, and taxation planning.

  • Lead preparation and follow‑up of budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.

  • Manage financial planning to support sustainable business development.

  • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks.

  • Develop and implement trade financing solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with local bookkeeping laws, accounting standards, and tax regulations.

  • Support management with clear interpretation of financial data and business drivers.

  • Present relevant financial information in a clear, concise format.

  • Maintain strong analytical, IT, and numerical capabilities to support financial operations.

  • Work independently and collaboratively within the finance team.

  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Provide daily financial support while also contributing to long‑term planning and development.

 

Competencies

  • Financial Management and Accounting Expertise

  • Local Bookkeeping & Tax Law Knowledge

  • IFRS familiarity (preferred)

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

  • Ability to interpret and communicate financial data

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Understanding of management processes and business operations

  • Ability to manage daily tasks while supporting strategic initiatives

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the Finance Team.

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and performance management for financial staff.

 

Work Environment

  • Professional office environment.

  • Regular use of standard office equipment including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing systems, and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

  • Primarily sedentary role with occasional physical activity.

  • Ability to lift files, access filing cabinets, and stand or bend as needed.

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull items during event setup.

  • Walking required when supporting onsite events.

 

Position Type & Schedule

  • Full‑time role, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Flexibility permitted, but availability during core business hours and marketing events is required.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25% travel, including international travel.

 

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

 

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Management experience.

  • Experience with in‑house financing.

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write professional correspondence.

  • Ability to present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings.

  • Fluent in English.
