LOCATION: Reston, VA. This is a flexible hybrid (2x/wk in office) role. Must reside within a reasonable commute to Reston, VA (preferred) or motivated to relo to the area from within the USA, PRIOR to joining (with company assistance). This is an excellent place for an IT professional to work and live. The area was master-planned to balance work, life, and nature, and it offers parks, lakes, and trails, great schools, a walkable town center with shops, restaurants, and entertainment and access to the Metro Silver Line for easy commuting into D.C.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • Lead ServiceNow platform architecture, solution design, and technical strategy
  • Collaborate with business leaders and technical teams to deliver scalable platform solutions
  • Drive the end-to-end implementation of ServiceNow solutions, focusing on Core foundation, ITSM, ITAM, and other relevant modules.
  • Design workflows, integrations, and enhancements to extend platform capabilities
  • Manage platform upgrades, optimization, security, compliance, and governance
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and ServiceNow best practices
  • Partner cross-functionally with IT, Security, Engineering, Finance, and HR teams
  • Oversee project delivery, stakeholder communication, and executive alignment
  • Maintain solution documentation, training materials, and knowledge sharing
  • Leverage emerging ServiceNow technologies to improve performance and innovation

 

IDEAL PROFILE

  • 8+ years of experience with ServiceNow, including deep technical expertise and knowledge in core platform, ITAM, ITSM, and CMDB/CSDM. Additional experience with ITOM, SecOPs, GRC, Service Catalog, Employee Center and Integration Hub is preferred.
  • Adept at gathering requirements and designing solutions that utilize built in ServiceNow functionality where possible, to deliver the desired functionality.  
  • Understanding of architecture and design of ServiceNow platform implementations, including workflows, custom applications, and integrations.
  • Must be able to articulate a clear view of the ecosystem to show you understand upstream/downstream/long term impact. 
  • Proven experience leading the entire project lifecycle on large-scale projects, while providing process governance.
  • Highly-skilled with scripting languages in the context of ServiceNow platform development and Service Portal.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub and Spokes. Perl and Python programming experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum and Kanban development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor technical teams preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commute to Reston, VA (highly preferred) or motivated to relo to the area PRIOR to joining. Neither remote nor delayed relocation are an option.
 
CERTIFICATIONS (having some of these is preferred):
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, ITAM, or similar)
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
  • ITIL v3/v4 certification
 
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
