We're partnering with a nationally recognized healthcare organization seeking a Director of Payroll to oversee payroll operations supporting approximately 50,000+ employees across multiple states. This highly visible leadership role combines operational leadership, Oracle Payroll expertise, and continuous process improvement while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and IT.

 

You'll report directly to the Assistant Vice President and play a key role in shaping the future of payroll operations.

 

How You Will Contribute

  • Lead enterprise payroll operations supporting 50,000+ employees across multiple states while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Manage and mentor a payroll organization while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the Oracle Fusion Payroll business owner, partnering with HR, Finance, and IT to optimize system performance and functionality.
  • Lead post-go-live Oracle Payroll activities including release testing, payroll validation, troubleshooting, enhancements, and ongoing system improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve reporting, increase automation, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Support the continued evolution of payroll operations as additional functions transition back in-house.
 
What You Bring (must have all):
  • 10+ years of payroll leadership experience in a large, complex enterprise environment. 
  • Deep hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Payroll (Oracle Payroll Cloud) in a live production environment. Proven ability to support and optimize Oracle Payroll after go-live, including testing, validation, troubleshooting, enhancements, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience serving as a Payroll business owner/SME while partnering with HRIS, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders. 
  • Strong background leading multi-state payroll operations and team within an enterprise or shared services model.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, accounting practices, controls, and operational best practices. 
 
Preferred Additional Experience:
  • Healthcare industry experience.
  • Participation in Oracle Payroll implementation(s).
  • Leading payroll transformation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Payroll accounting and general ledger reconciliation experience.
  • Local to Nashville
 
Other Requirements
  • Local to the Nashville area or willing to relocate upon hire with company support
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
