Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

**Relocation is welcomed and relocation packages are available.**

Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at either the Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC office. Schedule: Four 9-hour workdays and a half-day on Fridays.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 3 years of roadway design experience and working knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines and the FHWA Roadway Design Manual.

Job Description

  • Design and develop roadway projects including intersections, arterials, expressways, interstates, and interchanges
  • Assist with project scopes, budgets, schedules, and client communications
  • Work closely with project managers to maintain client needs and expectations
  • Mentor junior engineers, designers, and drafters in roadway design processes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, sub-consultants, and permitting agencies
  • Prepare roadway design plans in compliance with NCDOT and FHWA standards
  • Use MicroStation, GeoPak, OpenRoads, or similar design tools for plan development
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality design documents and reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of roadway design experience
  • Working knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines for Highway Design and FHWA Roadway Design Manual
  • Proficiency with roadway design software (MicroStation, GeoPak, OpenRoads preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with clients and teams
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines without close supervision
  • Sponsorship not available candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
