Software Engineer, Backend Systems – Crypto Trading

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer with 2–4 years of experience and strong production-level Rust programming skills to develop and maintain high-performance backend systems for a cryptocurrency trading platform.

The ideal candidate has experience with Rust, Tokio, asynchronous programming, low-latency systems, and real-time data processing, along with a background in fintech, trading, or blockchain technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Rust.

• Build and optimize REST APIs, WebSocket APIs, and real-time data pipelines.

• Develop backend systems that support cryptocurrency trading, risk management, and liquidation processes.

• Process live market data and optimize systems for fast, reliable trading execution.

• Build and maintain distributed systems, including blockchain state machines and asynchronous workflows.

• Develop concurrent applications using Rust and Tokio.

• Manage and optimize relational, time-series, and key-value databases.

• Troubleshoot performance issues and improve system speed, scalability, and reliability.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on system architecture, development, and production support.

Required Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional backend software engineering experience.

• Professional production experience with Rust is mandatory. Personal projects alone do not qualify.

• Hands-on experience with Tokio or similar Rust asynchronous frameworks.

• Experience building low-latency, real-time, or high-throughput backend systems.

• Strong understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, and distributed systems.

• Experience developing REST APIs, WebSocket APIs, or streaming data services.

• Professional experience in at least one of the following:

  • Cryptocurrency trading

  • Financial Technology (Fintech)

  • Electronic Trading

  • High-Frequency Trading (HFT)

  • Blockchain Infrastructure

• Experience working with relational, time-series, and key-value databases.

• Previous professional startup experience is required.

• Experience completing personal software engineering projects, preferably using Rust or C.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

• Must be available to work on-site five days per week. No remote or hybrid options.
