Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) -

About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise & Patient Care:
Administer a wide range of oxygen therapy techniques, adjusting equipment based on patient needs and age, all while following established protocols.
Provide exceptional care post-discharge, assessing, implementing, and documenting respiratory therapy needs.
Deliver respiratory treatments using advanced modalities tailored to patient-specific requirements.
Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilators, ensuring the best care possible with every procedure.
Perform critical blood gas sampling and analysis, troubleshooting equipment when necessary.
Assist with pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy, supporting physicians to achieve the best outcomes.
Maintain a high level of competency in obtaining quality 12 Lead EKGs and functional respiratory equipment checks.
Patient Rights & Confidentiality:
Maintain strict patient confidentiality, adhering to all necessary regulations.
Ensure patient identification protocols are followed for every procedure and medication administration.
Professional Problem Solving & Decision Making:
Work efficiently in fast-paced environments, organizing and prioritizing tasks with precision.
Stay calm and composed during crises, providing the highest level of care under pressure.
Evaluate patient needs and continuously adjust care plans to improve respiratory function.
Cultivate an atmosphere of teamwork, actively resolving conflicts and encouraging open communication.
Professionalism & Collaboration:
Display exceptional professionalism, documenting patient information and charges accurately.
Engage patients and families with respect and compassion, explaining treatment procedures thoroughly.
Contribute to team success by attending required in-services and offering guidance to new employees or students.
Quality Improvement & Risk Management:
Champion safety and infection control standards, utilizing personal protective equipment and adhering to policies.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities and contribute to enhancing overall care processes.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: Must be licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State (or eligible). Must be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC or eligible*.
Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.
CPR Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire
