Real Estate/Litigation Paralegal

Are you a skilled paralegal with a passion for real estate law and litigation? We're seeking a dedicated Paralegal professional to join a dynamic Corporate Legal Operations Department!

About This Opportunity

As a Litigation Paralegal, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our client’s commercial real estate operations. From eviction proceedings to lease enforcement, you'll handle diverse litigation services while providing essential legal support across all departments. This position offers the perfect blend of real estate expertise and litigation experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What Makes This Role Exciting

Working under attorney supervision, you'll tackle varied and challenging responsibilities including:

Lease Enforcement & Tenant Relations

  • Draft critical legal notices (default, demand, termination, relocation, and abandonment notices)
  • Correspond directly with tenants and their attorneys to resolve disputes and AR issues
  • Negotiate and document settlement agreements

Complex Legal Analysis

  • Conduct thorough due diligence reviews of commercial leases, analyzing everything from co-tenancy provisions to CAM language
  • Evaluate relocation rights, radius restrictions, exclusive use clauses, and termination rights
  • Prepare detailed litigation evaluations and collectability analyses

Litigation Support

  • Initiate and monitor unlawful detainer and breach of lease actions
  • Manage matters sent to collection agencies and assist with tenant bankruptcies
  • Handle subpoena responses and implement legal holds for document preservation
  • Support construction defect litigation and monitor mechanics' liens

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Partner with Property Management and Leasing teams to minimize legal risks
  • Provide daily legal support to all company departments
  • Coordinate resolution strategies for various legal disputes

What We're Looking For

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved school required

Experience

  • 3+ years law firm or in-house paralegal experience
  • Strong background in real estate law, preferably with litigation and commercial landlord/tenant experience
