Job Description: Project EngineerReports to Engineering ManagerGeneral Job Qualifications:B.S. in ME, EE, IE, MFG or other engineering disciplines with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have experience in project management and process design and improvements and be able to carry projects from concept to completion. Must possess good reading, listening, writing, and communication skills. Must be proficient in SolidWorks and MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. Must be self-motivated, a team player, and strong proponent for Continuous Improvements. Must be able to multi-task and make sound decisions based on research and information available.  Must be hands-on with strong mechanical aptitude. Must be organized, analytical and a problem solver. Must be able to work alone and with others. Experience in JD Edwards Enterprise One is a plus.Essential Functions:Responsible for evaluating equipment and processes to decrease downtime and improve safety and efficiency. Research and recommend new equipment purchases. Initiate new projects and work with maintenance, manufacturing, technical and outside vendors to schedule and complete the installation of equipment with limited interruption to other manufacturing processes.  Prepare Annual Capital Expenditure budget to include budget request, schedule, benefits and ROI for all capital requests. Oversee process tooling to include maintenance, repairs of current tooling and provide specifications and approval for all new tooling purchases.Primary Job Tasks:• Define new equipment or controls needed for process improvements; locate vendors and justify the costs.• Prepare Annual Capital Expenditures Budget.• Oversee new equipment installation and plant expansion projects.• Manage process improvement projects including oversight of contractors and vendors and coordination of efforts withSRP manufacturing and maintenance teams.• Maintain an up-to-date library of manuals and drawings for all equipment.• Develop expertise in rubber mold design.• Responsible for maintaining current molds and specifying and purchasing new molds for all equipment.• Maintain history and library of drawings for all molds.• Be familiar with all aspects of equipment, operations, safety, and troubleshooting.• Work with manufacturing and technical/quality teammates to develop processes for new molds and equipment.• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA guidelines.• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, maintenance, and technical teams as required.• Work with manufacturing and technical/quality teammates on continuous improvement projects.• Support maintenance in troubleshooting equipment and processes.• Other duties as assigned.
