Keys to Job: Big 4 background would be an ideal Candidate. Someone skilled in financial reporting, GAAP accounting and FP&A type work. Does not have be an expert in FP&A but experience with planning and analysis. Experience with large ERP systems like Oracle, PeopleSoft or SAP is a huge plus and preferred. Need someone who is sharp able to interface with executive level management. CPA, Master degree a plus but not a must.  

 

Job Description

The Manager Financial Accounting will oversee the monthly accounting close, ensuring adherence to strict financial controls and regulatory standards. This includes preparing journal entries for consolidation, intercompany transactions, and eliminations, as well as reviewing financial statements for accuracy. The role involves close collaboration with an external accounting partner, providing oversight, guidance, and updated procedures for new tasks.

A leading media and entertainment company is seeking a meticulous and analytical Financial Operations Manager to join its Global Finance team. This role focuses on managing accounting and reporting functions for a specialized division, ensuring robust financial governance, compliance, and operational excellence. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience with a major accounting firm is a plus.
  • Background in media, hospitality, or retail industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in complex ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
  • Experience overseeing offshore teams and reviewing their deliverables.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a track record of delivering accurate, high-quality work independently.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple systems and driving process innovation.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT to develop and maintain interfaces between accounting systems, ensuring seamless data integration and accurate financial consolidation.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial records, identifying discrepancies and recommending adjustments to meet company standards.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, variance analyses, and accounting memoranda for management and audit purposes.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of financial operations.
  • Analyze actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, delivering clear variance explanations to leadership.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Review and interpret contracts to apply appropriate accounting policies.
  • Work closely with divisional finance teams and operations to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
